Yummy Brownie Recipe

I am in love with this new recipe that my neighbor Lynn shared with me this week.  I love everything she bakes, so I am always super excited when I read that…I’m making brownies…text message she sends!

You will need:

2 sticks melted butter
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour (or you can use all-purpose for less cakey)
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cup coca
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or you could do butterscotch, or nuts)
1 tsp vanilla

To Make:

Mix all and pour into greased dish.  Bake at 350 for at least 30 minutes. Mine were pretty thick and took more like 45 minutes.

Now eat, preferably while hot!

I am so excited to introduce you to my friends at Southern Soiree!  They offer fabulous wedding and party services throughout Alabama.

I had the privilege of designing a logo, website and printed materials for these super stylish ladies.  If you don’t live around their parts, you can still learn some fun recipes and party tricks from their fun blog. Check it out here!

And in case you want to look at my design inspiration, here is their pinterest board.

Thanks so much for letting me design for you!

Etsy Christmas Gifts

I treated both my sweet babies to fabulous gifts from Etsy this year and I just had to share with you! Levi is chewing on his new blocks from Smiling Tree Toys. They sell all sorts of wonderful, natural toys that you will totally fall in love with.  I secretly love stacking.  I try to make the tallest tower possible… then Levi crashes it and starts beaver-ing the top block. Oh well, maybe he will start building soon:)

AND! I would never forget about my Polly girl.

She is my sweet baby.

She is sporting a fancy new leather collar from Dog Gone Nice. My favorite part is the brass plate with her name and our contact info.  Her last collar had a swingy metal bone tag.  I’m not sure if this was on purpose…but…she would wait until Levi was napping, then roam in his room and shake like crazy.  Metal swingy tag BE GONE!  Plus, leather is so snappy and stylish, just like her:)

And she gobbled up this yummy snowflake cookie from Nerdy Dog. Look how tasty and perfect it is. I wish it would have been baked especially for me!

If you’re in the market for gifts, go show these etsy sellers some love. Handmade gifts are sure to please:)

Creating a child’s room and guest room in one

Hey friends! Happy New Year! Hope you have some fabulous things planned this year, and maybe a few special updates to your home:) I once to think that my tiny 2-bedroom home was the only one that needed a dual-purpose kid’s and guest room, but I’m beginning to think that no matter the size of the home, fitting a guest room in somewhere will always be a challenge.  I think you can do it, and do it in style!! By making both things important instead of shoving one in as an after-thought.  I designed this fun dual-purpose room with a bright fun red hue and a relaxing blue. I sorta want to add it all to my home right now:) Not sure my baby boy would love this bedding though!

Now you try!

Nursery furniture and bedding is from Wayfair, guest bedding is from Anthropologie, headboard from Pottery Barn and table from this fun Etsy seller.

Tangerine Tango

I love to play along with Pantone’s color of the year. It’s fun to find it in the new spring fashion lines and add bits of it to craft projects and gifts.  So it you want to play along too here are some easy mix-ins.

Arbor crest print top from Shop Ruche for $32

Tangerine loafer from Michael Kors for $110.

I think I’m in love!

And someone should snap up these vintage earrings I found on etsy for only $20! From SusanJaneJewels.

My favorite products…ask Santa for these!

So one of my favorite things about the blog world is that I get real feedback on products.  I’m always interested in what people use and love…it always saves me money.  Since it’s almost Christmas I thought you may be like some ideas for yourself or other lovies.

First, I never spend money on makeup, but I scored some Bobbi Brown from a friend this summer, and fell completely in love.  I am typically a mineral makeup girl, but this is light and easy and feels like moisturizer.  I use it with my very favorite thing in the whole world, this setting spray from Urban Decay. I got it at Ulta for about $30…I know it’s a lot…BUT I never have to touch up my makeup. I have oily skin, like embarrassingly oily, makeup sliding off my face by the time I get in the car, re-apply 10 times a day oily; but this makes my BB stays put all day (I use Cover Girl powder in the morning too to soften and set).  If you don’t have an oil bucket on your face there are other Urban Decay products for you too!

I also have these jeggings from Mossimo at Target.  I fought this trend, I really did. I wore my skinnier jeans and let them twist 360 in my boots, and bunch around my knees, and squeeze my stomach so my muffin-top was loud and proud. Then I gave in on a $20 whim at Target.  I am in love. My friends are wearing them now:) I wash them inside out and add a little salt to the wash to keep the color dark.  They have real bum pockets and seams for the front pockets and zipper, so they look like jeans not PJ’s with printed on stitches (gag).  These beauties aren’t available online anymore, so you may have to actually fight the Christmas traffic, but it’s totally worth it.

Last, but certainly not least, are my favorite boots by Clarks. I actually have last year’s design, but this is so similar.  These lovies are an investment at the price, but 100% worth it because the color is perfect to match black, brown, gray and navy.   The design is sorta a hybrid cowboy style with a mid-height heel and plenty of sass. I bought the weather-proofer from Clarkes and they sloshed through icey-rain all year.  If anything they run big, but I have a super narrow foot. So you could do your true-size or half down in a pinch.  They broke in with no pain and I get compliments each time I step out in them.

If you have a fav product I need to try do tell in the comments!!

Have a great day ya’ll!
